About

Historical. Fresh. Local.

Proudly the oldest farmers’ market in southwestern Ontario. Located in beautiful Aylmer, Ontario. Located among the large Amish and Mennonite communities in Elgin County, and surrounded by countless farms offering the best of what Ontario agriculture has to offer.

Originally run as a cattle auction in the early 1950’s, the building has seen many additions over the years.

In the 1970’s, Ed Kikkert took over the market and grew the auctions and market by bringing more vendors and expanding the building once more.

In the fall of 1993 Mr.Kikkert sold the market to Eddie and Marja Lensink who continued to operate the market for nearly three more decades. Then, following the winter of 2019/2020, the pandemic led to the market’s closure and in early 2022 they chose to retire and sold the market to Stephanie Dall’Armi-Lensink who looks forward to opening the outdoor and indoor market space for all to experience the Aylmer Sales Arena once more.

She looks forward to reviving the historic market while staying true to its roots as a hub in Elgin County where locals can shop and connect. Now open once again, please come see us soon!
